Shortly after a jihadist bombed the Manchester Arena, killing 22, a fed-up Texas sheriff bucked political correctness to tell Americans to “wake up” and to point the finger of blame at what he feels is the motivation for terrorism. However, as soon as angry Muslims demanded an apology for his “Islamophobic rant,” he instead offered them 4 extra words.
Texas Denton County Sheriff Tracy Murphree has previously been a target for left-wing hatred for his staunch support of our Second Amendment rights and criticism of the LGBT’s unscientific gender identity propaganda. Still, he hadn’t previously drummed up as much disdain and outrage until he gave a Churchill-esque rant, warning of Islam’s violent fundamentals and the imminent threat of mass Muslim migration.
On Monday night, Murphree took to Facebook to implore Americans to “pay attention to what is happening in Europe,” concluding that with open borders and political correctness comes terrorism and the subsequent Islamization of the West.
As expected, leftists were monitoring Murphree’s posts for any disagreeable speech, hoping to blackmail him with accusations of “Islamophobia” and hate speech. Like clockwork, a screenshot of the post spread, prompting Muslims to demand an apology and that the Texas sheriff is reprimanded for practicing his First Amendment rights. What they received instead was even better than Murphree’s original post.
Without hesitation, Murphree responded to those demanding his silence by openly doubling down on his stance, saying, “I stand behind it.” In an interview with NBC 5, the politically incorrect sheriff then turned the conversation around to focus on the real issue — Islamic terrorism —reminding them that “We need to be realistic about the world we live in.”
“You better wake up America. While you are distracted by the media and the crying of the left, Islamic Jihadist are among us and want to kill you,” he later wrote.
While designated terrorist group CAIR is nowhere to be found when it comes to speaking out against slaughter by Muslims, they were at the ready in an attempt to suppress Murphree’s speech. According to the Star-Telegram, the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter cleverly labeled the sheriff’s comments an “Islamophobic rant,” which is a technique they use to silence free speech they don’t like. Immediately, they called for Murphree to recommit to his oath to protect even Muslim civilians, which his beliefs have never prevented him from doing.
“We call on Sheriff Murphree to reaffirm his pledge, and that of his officers, to serve and protect all Denton County residents regardless of their faith, ethnicity or national origin,” CAIR-DFW Civil Rights Director Nikiya Natale said in a statement.
Incredibly, Murphree was poised for an attack from terror-tied CAIR, answering their loaded accusations by once again informing them that Islam has nothing to do with race.
In his interview with NBC 5, Murphree said, “A lot of folks want to make it a race issue. And to me, it’s not a race issue. It’s a public safety issue.”
Of course, Muslims and the left use the accusation of racism to silence critics of Islam, knowing that our freedom of speech is the most powerful weapon against the tyrannical ideology. However, Islam is not a skin color but a set of beliefs and, if there’s anything we’ve learned from our forefathers, every set of beliefs is fair game for criticism. Without this, history proves that the uncriticizable ideology will rule us.
Muslims understand that they must abolish our freedom to criticize and question the fundamentals of Islam and statistics concerning the Muslim population because their religion cannot stand up to such logic. This is why instead of launching a global campaign against Islamic terrorists, Muslims whine about a backlash that never comes each time one of their own carries out a brutal terrorist attack. It is not only an insult to their victims but a strategical attack on our freedoms.
