WASHINGTON – A Tacoma, Washington man frustrated with with thieves stealing packages came up with a clever solution. Jaireme Barrow rigged a decoy Amazon package on his front porch to surprise criminals with a blank 12-gauge shotgun shell and a hidden firing mechanism.
The entire incident was captured on surveillance video. Barrow told KIRO 7 news that the special package is extremely loud but harmless saying:
“Last two months I’ve had four packages come up missing and I just wanted some way to even the score,” said Barrow. “This is the best way I see fit. You know, you’re at work and you’re working hard and you’ve got these people out there that make a daily routine of running around and stealing packages. There’s no real way to prevent it so this is my solution.”
