Yes, there are a whole lot of different ways to clean your Glock, and most of them are not as detailed or time consuming as this one.
This is the Glock company’s official procedure for cleaning, lubing and inspecting your handgun. This is great information to view, because let’s face it, how many of us actually even read, let alone follow, the process precisely as it’s written in the manual?
Check out the video, or follow along with the rundown below.It’s important to gather all of your cleaning supplies together and have everything laid out before you begin. That will make the job go easier and more smoothly, and you won’t be caught missing something.
But boy, is this ever a detailed approach to cleaning. Glock even has listed the solvents and oils that they recommend you use, although he deviated from their recommendations a little bit.
They even recommend completely taking apart the clip, and cleaning and inspecting each component. I don’t have to wonder how many of us do that on a regular basis.
But this really is excellent information, and, like he says, it is better to watch the process rather than read about it. You have just watched perhaps the most thorough primer on how to properly clean and inspect your handgun. Now you can deviate from the process as you so choose.
