New York-based Kimber continues to build its line of six-shot revolvers by announcing three new models aimed at those searching for lightweight small-framed magnums.
Announced are the K6s Stainless 3-inch, K6s DC (Deep Cover), and K6s CDP (Custom Defense Package), all sharing the same lineage as the guns introduced at last year’s SHOT Show, but with new tweaks.
The Stainless 3″ at 23 ounces with an empty cylinder is billed by Kimber as the “world’s lightest production 6-round, 3-inch, .357 Magnum revolver” and runs 7.62 inches overall. The DAO handgun features an internal hammer, match grade trigger, low-glare brushed stainless frame and smoothed walnut grips. Three-inch revolvers have long been seen as the “sweet spot” between the concealability of a snub and the increased accuracy given by more full-sized 4-inch guns, and both Smith & Wesson and Ruger have kept 3-inchers in the stable in recent years. The DC has a smooth black DLC finish, G10 composite grips, and low-profile tritium 3-dot night sights. The 2-inch barrel gives the user a sight radius of just over 4 inches. MSRP is $1,155.
The all-over DLC finish and G10 composite grips denote the K6s DC, or deep cover.
The CDP has a DLC-finished frame contrasted against a brushed stainless cylinder and barrel. Night sights and laminated wood grips are the order of the day and, like the DC, MSRP runs $1,155.
