Magpul Announced the X-22 Backpacker Stock for the Ruger 10/22 Takedown today with this very well done video.
My initial reaction was that Magpul made a Ruger 10/22 version of the AR-7 Survival Rifle. The Magpul X-22 Backpacker Stock, like almost all Magpul products appears to be very well thought out. Magpul has made what they are calling a minimalist stock that the rear of the stock accepts and stores the fore end of the rifle after the barrel assembly is separated from the rest of the action. The Backpacker has a storage area in the grip and another hinged compartment in the stock capable of holding 3 magazines or a box of .22 ammo and a mag.
Magpul claims compatibility with all factory Ruger 10/22 Takedown rifles with drop-in installation. The Magpul X-22 Backpacker Stock is compatible with the MOE SL rubber but pads. Magpul is also offering the optional optic mount featured in the video and also optional are sling swivel mounts.
