The bolo rounds feature a pair of 0.5″ lead balls connected by 5″ of metal wire and costs about four times as much as a regular shotgun slug.
A viewer suggested these rounds after TAOFLEDERMAUS tried a few shots with Tim Hamilton’s barbell slugs.
The bolo rounds aren’t legal in all states, but they are legal in California of all places.
They’re surprisingly accurate at 20 yards, which may be due to the lack of separation.
While these weird rounds stay on target, they’re not much better than a low powered slug and definitely don’t live up to the hefty price tag.
A rifle choke was added in an attempt to force the spheres apart as they leave the barrel.
