Second Amendment supporters are fond of moments like these, when the bad guy runs into someone who is prepared. This video shows an attempted robbery. Needless to say, it didn’t go as the would-be robber intended. It turns out his victim was carrying a concealed handgun and was ready to defend himself.
The incident happened in Detroit last week. As Fox reports, “Cynthia Quinn rushed to Henry Ford Hospital when she heard her son Sanchez Quinn had been shot. She [was] upset because she didn’t know why she was not allowed to see her wounded son.”
“When I went to my son’s room, I was stopped by two police officers (who) told me to get out of my son’s room,” she told Fox. “‘Why you here? You can’t be here.’” She was confused. “All I want to do is see my son to see if he’s alright.”
Sanchez Quinn had been shot several times. Yet, as Fox so aptly reports, “the 29-year-old was not the victim.”
Quinn is accused of attempted robbery. He tried to rob people at gun point outside of a grocery store. One of those men, though, was licensed to carry a concealed handgun.
“I turned and looked and saw the other gentleman had a gun pointed at my face,” the robbery victim said. “I was able to knock his hand down and the gunfire rang out.”
Both men fired rounds in the exchange. The second man in the video was shot four times in the crossfire. It is unclear if he was shot by Quinn or the other man, or both. He crosses directly between them.
Police are crediting the victim for stopping the robbery, and have said that he might not be alive now if he hadn’t acted so decisively.
“It makes me mad because you have people out here that work every day. They are innocent; you want to take from them,” the man said. “These guys, I definitely feel don’t need to be back out on the street because someone else might get hurt and it might happen in a different way.”
The man, who has chosen not to be identified, told Fox that this was the first time he’s been in a situation like this.
