They call it the “Hammer of Thor” after an ancient God. Watch it in action and you’ll see why this quad bullet is “the most effective they’ve ever seen!”
Testing includes four test block shots of the Lehigh Defense Xtreme Penetrator, 9mm 115 grain solid copper ammo. This ammo is both non-expanding and non-fragmenting. Chronographed velocities are from a Glock 19, 4″ barrel. The review includes chronograph velocities, day and night shots, test shot; post-shot review of cavitation and penetration.
According to policeworld.news, this powerhouse bullet cuts deep – so deep that the bullet might be too powerful for normal uses. Those courageous enough to buy these bullets will discover that they are capable of not just hitting the target, but blowing it to smithereens. The overview of this ammunition says:
Audacity has led us to introduce a unique and innovative product, the Xtreme Penetrator (XP)product line, for both handgun and rifles. The progressive nose geometry allows for deep, straight penetration while creating a permanent wound cavity diameter exceeding that of most expanding bullets. To top it off, the bullet is solid copper or brass, and is able to overcome barriers to penetration; environmentally friendly, target unfriendly, very unfriendly, downright obnoxiously unfriendly.”
As the saying goes, a picture is worth 1,000 words. So watch the video below and you’ll see the method behind the madness of this bullet’s incredible destruction!
The magic happens with the nose design where the radial flutes force the hydraulic energy inward and then as the energy is restricted, it accelerates outward creating high pressure spikes damaging surrounding tissue. Kind of similar to sticking your thumb over a garden hose. You can see the radial pressure spikes in the gel pictures.”
Youtube ammunition demonstrator tnoutdoors9, who has more than 200 thousand Facebook followers, shared his experience with the ammo. Although it is destructive, he admits that the review was frustrating saying:
My frustration with this test, in spite of the bullet being well-constructed, is that in the greatest majority of scenarios this ammo is not suitable for self-defense. The risk of collateral damage is exponential with something like this. If you don’t care about that type of thing, FMJ would probably give similar results, and it’s much cheaper.”
“Although the ‘Xtreme Penetrator’ was originally produced in 2013, my opinions really haven’t changed.”
Some viewers are big fans of this ammo while others are skeptical and wish it caused more damage.
They make this in 10mm so I’m a BIG FAN of this ammo. It’ll be perfect for my Glock 20 when I’m outdoors with black and brown bears. I’ve seen this ammo penetrate bulletproof glass that stopped 44 Magnum.”
