Plano, known for their various cases, has been discreetly working to introduce their tactical bag brand, Tenzing Tactical. Released mid 2015 and shown during SHOT Show 2016 (with many other products), the bag has been making quiet rounds for its novel approach to being a 3-day pack as well as a fully deployable shooting rest.
By my view, the pack is a hunters dream. One does not have to hump specific gear into the field like tripods as the pack serves as the shooting base. During movement, the rifle is strapped in to the center channel allowing the hunter to use both hands rather than always managing a weapon. Once deployed as the shooting base, the bottom two sections fold out revealing dope card storage and elastic loops for 16 rounds.
Construction is of 500 denier Cordura and arrives complete with a rain cover (does not work with a rifle mounted) for extreme wet conditions. Webbing is standard nylon and the buckles are manufactured by Duraflex. Pack includes hip belts to distribute weight while carried in backpack form.
The Tactical Shooters pack is avaialble in Kryptek Typhon and in OD. No word on other colors. Packs are available through Tenzing dealers. Cheaper than Dirt has the Thyphon version priced at $244.43.
