Two former stars of the now canceled “Sons of Guns” reality show were arrested and booked on child abuse charges, according the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office issued warrants for Kristafor Ford and his wife Stephanie Hayden on Thursday. Kristafor is accused of hitting a 9-year-old boy with a leather black belt, causing a large bruise to the boy’s right thigh and buttocks area.
Hayden was arrested Friday and charged with principal to cruelty to a juvenile as she was present when the incident occurred, according to arrest records.
The child is allegedly Hayden-Ford’s son from a previous relationship.
The Discovery Channel’s hit reality television show Sons of Guns was cancelled earlier this year when star Will Hayden was arrested for multiple instances of child molestation against multiple victims including Stephanie Hayden-Ford, who spoke about the abuse in a television interview.
While I hate to say it, this arrest likely destroys the likelihood that Red Jacket Firearms will be able to survive as a viable company. The Haydens and Ford were the most visible part of the brand thanks to the television show.
Our sympathies go out to the unnamed victim, and to Joe Meaux and the Red Jacket Firearms team. Few people are going to want to buy firearms from a brand now intractability linked to various forms of child abuse in the media, despite the fact that the employees of the company did nothing wrong.
