Video of an irate woman berating a veteran is going viral. The woman was troubled that the vet brought his service dog into a restaurant. The dog, which helps the vet with PTSD, was clearly marked as a service dog, but that didn’t stop the woman from launching into a tirade that has many people seeing red.
As Heavy writes, “A woman visiting Kathy’s Crab House & Family Restaurant in Delaware City went off on the restaurant staff and customers for allowing a veteran to bring his PTSD service dog, a Great Dane, into the restaurant. The video was shared on YouTube by RJ Wisowaty, the owner of the restaurant. In the description of the video, Wisowaty writes, ‘A crazy woman argues with a veteran’s family about having his PTSD dog in a restaurant.’”
The dog in question isn’t your average service dog. It is big. Yet the Great Dane is wearing a vest that denotes it is there for official reasons. The vet stands by, holding the dog’s leash, while the woman goes off.
Workers and diners queued up to defend the serviceman who remained silent during the unpleasant verbal onslaught.
The screaming woman claims that the man shouldn’t be allowed to bring the dog into the restaurant. A waitress comes to his defense, and replies, “He’s allowed because he fought for our country.”
The woman then gets more angry, and claims her husband died overseas, serving the country. But then she continues. “It’s nasty to me, it’s f******* disgusting.” She then turns he aggression to the other diners, calling some of them whores and bitches before calling various diners w***** and b*****.
The vet tries to calm her down, but it doesn’t work.
“There should be a separate section for the f****** animals,” the woman shouts.
By this point, more people have come to the defense of the vet and the dog. The woman challenges them, though, and refuses to back down.
“Who’s gonna shut me up?” she asks. “Are you gonna make me?”
After exhausting all of her rhetorical skills, the woman decided to leave on her own. She walked out. She wasn’t gone long, though, and came back in for a new line of attack. “It’s my opinion,” she added. “None of y’all are gonna change it. It’s disgusting, it’s gross!”
The Americans with Disabilities Act clearly defines the role of service animals. This one qualifies. Its presence in the restaurant is completely legal.
