Sig Sauer launches new P365 concealed carry pistol

Sig Sauer dropped a new concealed carry pistol into its handgun lineup, introducing theP365 Monday.

The P365 is a striker-fired 9mm boasting a double-stack design with 10+1 capacity. Garnering its name from its so-called ability to be carried 365 days a year, the pistol aims to bring a lightweight, compact design to an already packed market.

Measuring 1-inch wide and 5.8-inches long, the P365 sports a 3.1-inch barrel. Weighing 17.8-ounces unloaded, the new gun also offers an optional 12-round extended mag for even more round capability.  Unlike competitor’s pistols on the market, the Sig doesn’t require the trigger to be pulled during takedown. Utilizing a narrowed magazine, the P365 permits the upper grip to fit the shooter’s thumb when in a firing grip.

“As a company, we are relentless in our quest to be better – to constantly improve upon our existing products and to design and build superior products than those currently on the market,” said Ron Cohen, CEO and President of Sig Sauer, in a statement. “The P365 is a result of this push. We built this pistol around our new, proprietary magazine for maximum concealability, capacity and shootability. The P365 is a pistol for professionals and civilians alike who want a smaller, high-performance pistol that does it all. This is the ultimate, everyday concealed carry pistol.”

Already ahead of the curve, Sig has partnered with Blackpoint Tactical to supply Blackpoint APX and IWB holsters available immediately for the P365. Sig says in addition to the new pistol and holsters, consumers can be on the watch for P365 accessories designed to complement the new digs.

MSRP on the P365 is $599 with 12 round extended mags offered for $55 each. The APX and IWB holsters run $79.95 a piece.
