[theviralpatriots] At least six people were shot by a gunman firing from his car in Lower Manhattan Tuesday afternoon, police sources said.
Cops were notified of the shooting, which took place at West Street and Chambers Street, at 3:15 p.m., according to police. The shooter is in police custody, cops said.
“Someone who was eyewitness said cab driver fired shots,” a Twitter user wrote.
Video of the scene shows at least two people lying limp in the street.
Police shut down the FDR to rush victims to Bellevue Hospital.

A shooting was reported in Lower Manhattan close to Stuyvesant High School. Singer Josh Groban tweeted, “Oh my God I just heart gun shots and ran with my dog. Downtown. F***.” While authorities have confirmed that they are heading to the scene. So far, official have referred to the incident as “reports of shots fired.”

Pix 11’s Anthony DiLorenzo has said that their are “several people confirmed injured/unconscious.” DiLorenzo later reported that those people had been hit by a truck. The New York Daily News is reporting that four people have been killed.

There is one person in custody after the incident, according to the Pix11 report. Police have said that they are not seeking any other suspects at this time.
3. A Witness Described Seeing a ‘Car Run Over 2 People’
One witness wrote on Twitter, “Jesus! A car just ran over two people and then crashed into a school bus. I see two dead bodies and Citibikes on the floor destroyed.”
4. Emergency Services Are Still Searching for More Victims
Police are searching along the bike path close to the West Side highway in the search for more possible victims, reports ABC New York. The victims will be treated at Bellevue Hospital.
