The World’s Fastest Shotgun: The Fostech Origin 12

Welcome to the Fostech Origin-12 Shotgun. This thing is a lead-spewing machine. We’ve put on notice watermelons, steel targets and the earth itself. I’ve not seen so much dirt kicked up and exhaust pumped out since I don’t know when.

This firearm is built on an AK style platform, and this one that we’re shooting today is in a short configuration with a 9 3/4 inch barrel. On the barrel end we’ve also got a full length Salvo 12 suppressor from SilencerCo.

Eric is also shooting a variety of magazines, including a 30-round drum, 20-round drum, 10-, 8- and 5-round sticks. And man does he go through them quicker than snot.

“Guys, it’s not a machine gun. It’s not a full-auto shotgun. It’s just fast cycling,” says Eric. “As quick as your trigger finger can run, this gun will run it.”

They break the shotgun down a bit, remove the Salvo 12 suppressor, and load up a 30-round drum magazine for a grand finale. After firing those 30 rounds in less time than it took you to read this sentence, Eric was duly impressed. “As far as I know, it’s the fastest cycling shotgun in the world,” claims Eric.

“I’ll tell you what, the Fostech Origin-12 is a really, really awesome piece of hardware.”

Iraqveteran8888 did an earlier video “kind of” review of the Fostech Origin-12, wherein they gave a little more info on the firearm. Check that video out below.

The Fostech Origin-12 runs around $2600 to $2900, depending on what kind of finish you get it in.  One of the things Fostech has on the table is that at some point down the road they will sell a conversion kit with the shotgun, enabling you to shoot .308, .556 and other caliber ammo in the gun. Now that is pretty cool, and may take a little bit of the sting out of the price.
