Santa Rosa police seize guns in gang arrests

Two illegal guns were seized from suspected gang members in two separate arrests, Santa Rosa police said.

On Friday, felon Wayne Gregory Patrick, 49, was arrested at a Rutledge Avenue home after officers found him in possession of a loaded .380 caliber pistol with the serial number scratched off, Sgt. Tommy Isachsen said.

At the same time, officers arrested his niece, Ashley Florence Patrick, 21, on a felony warrant for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon with force likely to cause great bodily injury, he said.

In a separate case related to gang vandalism, officers on Wednesday arrested Tony John James Jr., 20, at a home on Lavell Village Circle.

He was found to be in possession of a stolen, sawed-off .22 caliber rifle fitted with a high capacity magazine, Isachsen said.
